About the Author
Blake Freeman grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where his love of storytelling began before relocating to Los Angeles to build his career in film and television. For more than 20 years, he has worked as an actor, director, writer, and producer. Inspired by the books that shaped his imagination as a child, Blake has always believed stories can help people see the world differently. Driven by his passion for wildlife and conservation, he created Haibu to give wild animals a voice and encourage young readers to care for the planet. In addition to storytelling, Blake is helping push the industry forward by rethinking animation and film production through innovative technology and a modern, efficiency-driven creative approach.
Tara Price was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and now lives in Los Angeles. With a background spanning technology, business, and major motion picture production, she brings strategic precision and creative vision to every story she helps create. Tara is also the voice of Haibu across all digital and film platforms. She believes stories can spark empathy early and inspire children to care for animals, each other, and the world around them.
Matt Kiel is a storyteller, producer, and lifelong lover of the ocean, beaches, and the natural world. His deep care for the sea and the animals that call it home is what first drew him to Haibu, making it a perfect fit for both his heart and his creative spirit. Before joining this adventure, Matt spent nearly a decade helping bring big events and productions to life around the world, managing everything from talent and partnerships to logistics and live production. He has also worked in sports, entertainment, and film, including roles with Kraft Sports Group, Lionsgate, and other production companies. With his passion for storytelling and his love for our planet, Matt is proud to help bring Haibu’s meaningful adventures to life for kids everywhere.
Frank Pula is a proud father of three and a military veteran whose stories are shaped by a deep sense of imagination, resilience, and heart. Drawing inspiration from everyday family life and the lessons learned through service, Frank creates engaging tales that spark curiosity, kindness, and courage in young readers. When he’s not writing, he enjoys spending time with his kids, whose creativity and energy continue to inspire his storytelling.
