Hamptons Pleasures

In this enticing follow-up to The Hamptons: Life Behind the Hedges, authors Susan P. Meisel and Ellen Harris take readers on another intimate journey through the lush landscapes and pristine beaches of the famous summer destination spot. Forget the glittering, frenetic social scene-the Hamptons revealed in these pages is a place long beloved by artists, writers, and many others for its quiet beauty, luminous light, rich soil yielding delicious produce and magnificent gardens, and respite from the city.

Through gorgeous color photography and an intimate, conversational text, the authors take us to their favorite spots in this Long Island paradise, from produce stands to majestic mansions to charming, centuries-old towns. Hamptons Pleasures portrays a fast-disappearing, contemplative area of great scenic beauty-a place that retains much of its enchantment and is still, according to the authors, the best place in the world to get away from it all.

Susan P. Meisel is a photographer, artist, and, along with her husband, art dealer Louis Meisel, a collector of Americana. The Meisels divide their time between New York City and Sagaponack.
