Hand Book of the Tamil Language

This prose reader contains scarcely a sentence which may not be of use to the learner. All the words in it will be found in the dictionaries. It will be a useful exercise for the student occasionally to re-write the pieces, using synonyms; to make précis of them; and, in some cases, to construct cross-examinations as given in the book. The book is the product of extensive study of this language. There is no statement in the book to which exception may justly be taken. The book contains six chapters. Chapter one contains Classical Prose, Chapter two contains Business Tamil, Chapter three covers Easy Stories, Chapter four covers Pancha-Tanthiram Friendship’s Gain, chapter five covers Magisterial BusinessCutchery Tamil, and chapter six covers Petitions and official correspondence.
