Store description
A long retired Librarian ( though very, very few are Ex Library, which I abhor), collected over the last 60 years or so,with an emphasis on good condition and scarcity. I aim always for the highest standards in packaging, mailing times selling my personal collection of approx. 2000 old and vintage books on many subjects and by many 'creative' writers. Collected over the last 60 years or so,with an emphasis on good condition and scarcity. I aim always for the highest standards in packaging, mailing times and accuracy of item description, as I was a professional bibliographer. To date, I have had almost nothing but praise for these. Two comments stand out as typical. " The book was exactly as described " and " The packaging of the book was almost bombproof " This is a down sizing exercise and and every book is very moderately priced for that reason, my inventory starting with low priced books and will be increasing later to more valuable ones in most subject and author categories. …

UNITED KINGDOM ORDERS.
Postage is extra at cost, usually by Royal Mail. Packaging for all books is of a high standard. In every case I will inform you in advance of mailing, of the costs of sending high value, heavy and oversize items and any necessary insurance costs and ask which method and speed of mailing and insurance you require and quote for it. In the rare event of loss in transit, the buyer of under insured books will only be compensated to the maximum of the chosen insured sum of the book's value and not for any postal charges, as these are not included in Royal Mail's insurance cover I cannot offer compensation to the purchaser for un insured items lost in the post when the carrier declines to compensate for loss.
OVERSEAS ORDERS
Postage is extra at cost and the items will be sent by the most economical and reliable rate where possible, unless otherwise instructed (usually by Royal Mail), which provides adequate insurance (compensation) only for the book's value, and do not include the postage charge. I will advise you in advance of the costs involved for these. In the event of loss in transit, the buyer of under insured books will only be compensated to the maximum of the insured sum of the book's value.I cannot offer compensation to the purchaser for un insured items lost in transit when the carrier declines to compensate for loss.
Please note that any Customs duty and VAT levies payable are the responsibility of the buyer, which will be collected by ABE..
OVERSEAS ORDERS
I aim to despatch confirmed orders within 2 days maximum.
All items are packaged to a high standard and the illustrations of all books have been collated and signed off by a third party and are perfect unless otherwise stated. The texts of older books have also been collated also. Thus, you may be confident of receiving a complete copy, unless it is agreed otherwise before posting.
Communication by e-mail is much preferred as, for medical reasons, there is only an occasional telephone recorded incoming message service with no outgoing calls possible.
