About the Authors

John J. Pilch teaches biblical studies at Georgetown Univeristy. He has also been invited as a visiting professor to universities and seminaries throughout the world. Among his numerous publications are "Introducing the Cultural Context of the Old Testament, ' 'Introducing the Cultural Context of the New Testament, ' and 'Healing in the New Testament.'

Bruce J. Malina is Professor Emeritus of New Testament at Creighton University. He is the author, coauthor, and editor of numerous influential books on the New Testament. These include The Social Gospel of Jesus (2001), The New Testament World (3rd ed., 2001), and Social-Science Models for Interpreting the Bible (edited with John J. Pilch, 2007).
