About the Author
Dr. José Abraham Amaya Duarte is a radiologist with extensive clinical and academic experience in diagnostic imaging, advanced image interpretation, and image-guided procedures. His expertise includes ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and radiography across a broad range of clinical applications. He earned his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua (UNAN-León) and completed his specialization in Diagnostic Imaging at the Universidad de Defensa de Nicaragua (UDENIC). To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Amaya pursued advanced subspecialty training in musculoskeletal, neuro, and women’s imaging, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Obstetric and Gynecologic Ultrasound. Dr. Amaya currently serves as a Radiology and Imaging Specialist at Sugar City Medical Center in Belize, where he provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and supports multidisciplinary clinical teams. His professional background also includes academic instruction, pediatric medicine, and international teleradiology services for hospitals and clinics worldwide. A dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Amaya’s professional focus lies in improving diagnostic accuracy, clinical workflow, and imaging quality through continuous education and collaboration. His commitment to excellence and his contributions to clinical radiology continue to advance the field across Latin America and beyond.
