First edition. Scuffed, scored and edgeworn hardcover. No dust jacket. Spine head and leading corners are bumped. Cloth cover of front board is slightly split along leading edge. Several light cup stains on rear board. Page block is grubby. Front and rear inner paper hinges beginning to split. Small bookseller's sticker on rear pastedown. Pages are slightly tanned. Occasional minor age spotting throughout text. Leading corners of early and final pages are lightly creased. Three centimetre tear on page 49. Some page edges are nicked. Binding remains intact, contents are clear. T.
