This handbook explains principles, processes, methods, and procedures of optical engineering in a concise and practical way. The second edition contains new chapters on paraxial ray tracing, aberrations and optical design, polarization and polarizing optical devices, microscopes, biomedical instrumentation, and optical methods in metrology. The new edition also includes chapters on active and adaptive optics, non-diffractive Bessel and airy beams, color and colorimetry, physiological optics and eye aberrations, and photonic materials, nanophotonics, and metamaterials.
