It was written by the author as they felt there was a lack of clear, concise laboratory guides that met the needs of students in practical hygiene. It is intended primarily as a companion for use alongside theoretical works and for that reason, the author has omitted subjects like food analysis and the examination of clothing, as they believed these to be too difficult and specialized for students at that time. Instead, the author has concentrated on explaining more routine methods such as potassium permanganate tests, and those for the determination of hardness, chlorin, and organic matter in water. The book has retained considerable relevance to this day as although some of the methods have since been simplified through the introduction of processes such as the Nessler process and the Wanklyn method of distillation, the underlying principles remain the same. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Returns
As a small publisher we do not have the facilities to resell returned books, so any returned book will be recycled.
