Handbook on Rajputs

The Rajput race is the noblest and proudest in India. With the exception of the Jews there are perhaps no people of higher antiquity or purer descent. They form a military aristocracy of a feudal type. They are brave and chilvalrous, keenly sensitive to an affront, and especially jealous of the honour of the women. In disposition they are manly, simple, and honest, and as a rule have none of the cunning and intrigue of the Brahman. The chief characteristics of the true Rajput are pride of race and inordinate extravagance. It provides details about various Rajput clans across India, western and central India specifically, their distribution with the maps and social norms and customs of Rajputs and how it varies with region, how it's easy to identify a Rajput by just looking at them. How Britishers picked the right candidate and why they preferred Rajputs in the Army and what makes Rajputs great warriors, their characteristics and traits, customs, traditions, and norms and habits and how they vary from clan to clan. It contains also three maps to delineate the things properly. This book is good on the historical point of view.
