This 5.5 x 7.875 inch, 512 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the 1944 reprinting of the 1942 first edition. This is the original 1944 book and not. The book itself is in very good condition with just a bit of time and shelf wear showing to the dark maroon cloth covers. The gilt lettering on the front cover and spine are somewhat faded but are quite legible. A bit of shelf wear shows to the corners but beyond that the binding is tight and secure. The interior text pages show a small applied decal of a bookshop to the ffep and just a bit of age browning to the edges of the text pages but beyond that the interior pages are in near fine condition, with no markings, creasing, or damage showing. The pages of this book are filled with an array of craft technique, tools, and materials with every page featuring illustrations, drawings, and photographs to describe the author's handiwork. The dust wrapper is in one piece but is well worn, and is missing significant chunks of paper along the top edge and at the bottom of the spine. The price shows at $3.00 on the back jacket flap. In today's world of instant accomplishment and plastics commercialism this book is a treasure trove featuring skills and crafts that have come out of our ancient human experience. 512 pages.…
