This book examines the theology that shaped leading Anglican theologian Handley C.G. Moule’s understanding of the Christian life.

Moule was an evangelical of global renown, and this monograph analyses his thought from 1870 to 1920, with particular focus on his most fruitful period from 1870 to 1900. It examines Moule’s work in its historical context and according to his major theological emphases to reveal how these shaped his account of the Christian life. Through a meticulous reading of all his surviving manuscripts - including his sermons, lecture manuscripts, diaries, newspaper and journal articles, commentaries, and books - this book offers a full understanding of Moule’s doctrine of the Christian life.
