Handmade Silk Paper

Silk paper can be made into original bowls, book covers, multimedia textile pieces, boxes, and lampshades—each one of them unlike anything that has been made before. The process could not be simpler. You need no special tools or equipment and it only takes minutes. Textures and colours can be combined; beads, leaves and seeds can be added—it is fun to experiment and to create unique, lustrous papers. See how easy it is to progress from complete beginner to accomplished artist with a few simple projects. The step-by-step instructions aim to develop skills and confidence, and the projects are attainable by even the least experienced papermaker. A gallery of artists is included to challenge and inspire the textile artist.
