With Hands and Heart: A Visual Collection of Antiques and Folk Art from Eastern Ontario

With Hands and Heart explores the rich tradition of antiques and folk art found across Eastern Ontario. Featuring more than 100 objects from the collections of ten prominent regional collectors, the book documents a wide range of handmade works that reflect the region's creativity and craftsmanship. The majority of the pieces illustrated have never been published.

Among the artisans highlighted is William Glenworth Loney (1877–1956), a blacksmith and ironworker from Prince Edward County whose work demonstrates remarkable versatility. Loney frequently combined wood carving, painted decoration, and forged metalwork within a single piece, creating distinctive objects that stand among the most compelling examples of Canadian folk art.

Photographed across Eastern Ontario and carefully documented, the objects presented in With Hands and Heart offer a window into the region's material culture and the collectors who have preserved it.
