About the Author
Shmuel Tatz, PT, PhD, is a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist. His studies and experience encompass almost 40 years and three continents. He has extensive experience with sports injuries and has worked with the Soviet Olympic team. Practicing his system of Body Tuning® he has solved problems that have not been successfully treated elsewhere. He has treated many performing artists including Isaac Stern, Lou Reed, Kathleen Turner, Mstislav Rostropovich and Natalia Makarova as well as patients from all walks of life. His renowned Body Tuning studio is located in Manhattan. Dr. Tatz has been the author for 2 books, over 50 articles, and featured in innumerable publications and broadcasts including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Life Style Magazine, The Strad, Fox, A&E etc. <P> Vladimir Mayoroff, MD, is a professional musician and a physician. In 1958 he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music in Vilnius, Lithuania, and in 1971 he graduated from Kaunas University of Medicine in Lithuania. He has been teaching young pianists for over 46 years at the Music Gymnasium. His extensive experience in teaching music, along with his medical background, has enabled him to focus on and discover significant reasons for the occurrence of diseases and disorders in the hands of professional musicians. Dr. Mayoroff has invented unique ways to prevent and treat these disorders. He is a noted author and guest lecturer at numerous national and international conferences.
