Our Hands Can: A Show Us Your Hands! Photo Book Project

The Our Hands Can photobook is a beautiful collection of photos and stories by people who have inflammatory arthritis. Each tell the story of what their hands do every day with joy and pride. The impact of the different types of inflammatory arthritis — rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile arthritis, and more — is different for each person, seen in the photos they so fearlessly share with the world. Yet, all have one thing in common: they are stories of lives led with joy and determination, each individual using their hands as best they can. Our Hands Can is a life-affirming, inspirational book that will bring hope to anyone who lives with these types of chronic illnesses. The book is edited and published by Show Us Your Hands!, a non-profit international awareness organization that aims to unite and inspire the inflammatory arthritis community. Our Hands Can is an innovative and creative awareness campaign. Between the overview of different kinds of inflammatory arthritis and the dozens of photos and stories, it shines a light on the serious nature of inflammatory arthritis, while focusing on the capability and resourcefulness of the people living with the disease.
