Handsome reproduction of 1950s-era volume has seen better days -- rubbing of dust jacket edges, bumping of spine at crown, title page separated entirely and mangled near heel -- but this fascinating compendium transcends its (still good) condition. These volumes represent the cream of my aunt's voluminous collection, which includes signed first editions from a friend's defunct Lincoln City store, antiquarian tomes a Reed professor bequeathed decades ago, and the art & design section of downtown Portland's long-lamented NorWester Bookshop. Given spatial constraints, I've little choice but to liquidate the inventory she spent a lifetime accumulating, but my dilemma opens opportunities for the right consumer.
