A handwritten letter measuring 7 3/4" x 9.5". The letter was composed by 1st Lieut. John Heard stationed at Perth Amboy, NJ to Colonel Jonathan Rhea. He is asking the Colonel to inform Mr. Philips if he would come to Amboy. He then mentions that he should have visited the Colonel, but has nobody to attend to the office in his absence. Slight foxing to the paper, but otherwise a clean document. Small chip along the edge on the left side. No watermarks.
