The Hangman (Paperback)

When an SEC investigator spots insider trades tied to the oncoming 9/11 attacks, his follow-the-money game turns deadly in this adrenaline-fueled financial conspiracy espionage thriller.

September 2001 is approaching, and someone is betting billions on America’s downfall.

Wall Street prodigy Liam Maverick should be serving life for a brutal double killing. Instead, he flees to Europe, where the terror group ETA remakes him into a far deadlier weapon. With his identity erased and his face surgically altered, he becomes Sam Saxon, the assassin they call the Hangman.

Back in the US, SEC investigator Barrett Johnson spots a tremor in the markets: a coordinated bet against America. His bosses dismiss him as a troublesome investigator with a gambling habit, until CIA task force leader Sergeant Major Jenn Rawlins pulls him into a covert counterterror operation.

While Rawlins battles bureaucratic blindness in DC and Barrett follows shell companies and blood money across borders, Saxon learns his handlers are building a plot aimed at the heart of his homeland. As America moves unknowingly toward 9/11, someone is turning stock markets into weapons, and the fallout will be measured in bodies.

Now hunter and hunted are on a collision course with history.

Twist-packed, gritty, and relentlessly fast-paced, The Hangman launches the Barrett Johnson Thrillers series. Perfect for fans of Daniel Silva, Brad Thor and Vince Flynn.
