Kathleen T. Pelley is the Happy Mama of two grown daughters. She is a native of Glasgow, Scotland, living in Denver, Colorado, with two happy Golden Retrievers and one happy husband. She is the author of five other picture books, three of which were named Best Children's Books of the Year by Bank Street Books and one of which received an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Book Award. Ruth E. Harper was made a very Happy Mama by her daughter and son. Long ago, she came from England and now lives in Denver, Colorado, with her happy-go-lucky husband, a bouncy dog, and two purry cats. She is the illustrator of the #1 best seller and timeless classic The Kissing Hand, and also Sassafras. This is her third book for CWLA.
