Very Good early edition 1874 grammar book, Harper's Language-Series. pp. 176. Original first owner's protective paper jacket still with the book with pencil markings and names on the jacket. Also included are the original owner's practice papers and lessons, some with drawings tucked into the book dated to 1874. Endpapers have some tanning as do the boards likely from the paper jacket. Small areas of staining where the jacket had worn and torn or bent away from the boards. Previous owner's names and practice paragraphs written in pencil throughout endpapers. Very Good, Collectible especially as it contains original owner's papers and those are in tact and kept with the book after 150 years, Unique look into American Education in the years following the Civil War.
