About this Item
Illustrated wraps. Folio. Apparently disbound from a bound volume. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Single issue of this journal, including an article on Chicago's elevated railroad, with photos; an article on the opening of the Yankton Reservation in South Dakota to settlement, including several photos, one depicting boys in front of a government school. It is unclear what the "opening" refers to, as white settlers began homesteading on the reservation in 1887, reducing the amount of land controlled by Native Americans in the area. Currently, the reservation is not officially represented on maps of South Dakota. GOOD condition. Spine rough, with some chipping and tearing. Minor soiling and toning. Some curling at the corners.
