Add to basketLondon/New York: George Routledge and Sons, 1872. This is an attractive Victorian printing of the first novel by the popular Irish novelist (1806-1872). Originally written in 1839. There is no publication date, but the Preface here indicates he did some revising for re-publishing, and is dated 1872, the year of his death. Possibly a posthumous issue. Brick red cloth binding, decoratively stamped and filled with black and gilt. Clean text; xx, 484 pages, with a one-page advert in the rear. Lightly rubbed at the margins, some fade to the spine. and some scuff marks on the rear cover. A solid an visually attractive copy. Later Printing. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
