First editions, first impressions. 4 vol. 8vo. Original boards. Dust-jackets, all correctly priced. An unusually good set of the first quartet of Deighton's "Harry Palmer" novels (although the character is never actually named in the books); increasingly difficult to find as a set and in comparable condition, here with the original crossword slip in the second book as called for. The stories' popularity received an additional bolstering from the three film versions made starring Michael Caine, and have enjoyed ongoing success for fans of spy fiction, not least as a counterpoint to Fleming's James Bond novels. IPCRESS File: an excellent copy; jacket with just a little rubbing and very minor toning to spine, overall very good. Horse Under Water: with original loose crossword clean, a very good; jacket with usual slight toning to spine, overall very good. Funeral In Berlin: a couple of small tape marks to boards; jacket a little browned at top edge with slight toning to spine, slightly rubbed at head of spine, otherwise very good. Billion-Dollar Brain: very good copy of the book; jacket with some rubbing to lower edge and foot of spine, some minor creasing and scratching, otherwise very good. Seller Inventory # 85928
