Endpapers and last couple pages of index foxed, boards a bit rubbed with a couple light spots on fore edge, owner bookplate of U.S. Secretary of State Robert Lansing on front endpaper. 1888 Hard Cover. viii, [6], 847 pp. Blue cloth, gilt titles, two hemispheres of the Earth in silver with gilt and maroon borders on front board. Chronological table precedes text. An alphabetical reference to thousands of world events. Originally published in 1841, this work has been continuously reworked and updated, and this edition features a new appendix including events through the spring of 1887.
