I have a few things to tell you.
Although infidelity is remarkably commonplace, no one ever believes it could happen to them. The truth is, no one's marriage is immune to betrayal.
This doesn't make it any easier when it happens in your life. In fact, finding out that your spouse has been unfaithful has to be one of life's most devastating moments.
Even waking up in the morning takes courage.
And the pain doesn't seem to go away, even after days, weeks and months. There are reminders and triggers everywhere you look.
That's when you say to yourself, "I'm a fool for putting up with this. I must be a weak person to stay in this marriage. I need to draw a line in the sand and stop being a wimp." Others around you will encourage you to kick your marriage to the curb.
You start to judge yourself harshly. You feel shame for staying.
But believe me, there is no shame in working through this crisis to get to the other side. Besides, leaving doesn't solve anything; you still have to deal with the pain. Plus, you'll be ending a marriage and, if you have kids, your family will never be the same.
