There are no sociological or psychological measures to determine the impact of abuse on the individual or the depth of pain in a survivor. Abuse is abuse. It is always about the survivor and their response to the abuse. In The Healing Way you will find concrete steps to guide you on a journey of healing. This journey will take you along a path toward becoming a healthier, happier, and better human being.

Section One of the book begins with an overview of abuse, how it runs in families, destroys self-esteem, and changes an innocent being into a person who does not know what normal social behavior is.You'll find real-life examples and information on family dynamics, how they work, and what happens when the family is dysfunctional. Section Two guides you through the first steps of healing with guided imagery. Then it suggests the survivor become a grateful and contemplative person. It gives specific and clear advice on how to achieve serenity in your life. Section Three discusses healing through education, counseling, support groups, and journaling. It offers examples and stories on how these steps can empower a survivor.Section Four is about simple human knowledge. Information which very few teach. It is knowledge counselors and psychologists rarely convey to their clients. It will be new information to many and the author discusses how to learn new information when there is no foundation of knowledge to build on. The author discusses: differentiation, fear, resilience, adaptability, rigidity. You will find discussions which can help you see your life with more perception and clarity. And the good news is: there is another perspective on forgiveness that is somewhat different from current trends.

The Healing Way can be learned and followed by most survivors. And the premise is that we can become better, happier people one-step-at-a-time. However, the voices in the book are predominantly for women. Nevertheless, statistics show significant numbers of males are abused each year. If you are male or another gender, please adapt the language for your needs. You will find in The Healing Way encouragement, guidelines, advice for the sole purpose of healing after abuse.
