This morning, we begin 2 days of hearings on issues specifically within the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee which relate to health care reform. We will consider the appropriate antitrust eu forcement standards for physician networks, the need for reform of the medical liability system, and how a relaxation on the liability of volunteers could encourage more people to donate their time to nongrofit organizations.

T is morning, the committee will first hear - actually second hear - from Robert Pitofsky, Chairman of the Federal Trade Com mission, ou the Antitrust Health Care Advancement Act of 1996. That is h.r. 2925, legislation which I have introduced to ensure that the conduct of certain provider networks receives rule of rea son consideration for purposes of the antitrust laws.
