Health Care in Rural Areas

The book on Health Care in Rural Areas is a recent addition to the list of books on Health Economics. The book discusses various health care systems prevailing in India, particularly in rural areas and the preference of people towards them. It also explains health problems of the rural people. The diseases, that affect people may be communicable or non-communicable or water-related or air-related or others. Health care expenditure is influenced by various factors such as income, education and health condition. Good health reduces health expenditure on health care services. The aged, the educated and the affluent spend more on health care. A country’s health condition is indicated by its health indicators such as infant mortality, under-five child mortality, child mortality, maternal mortality, death rate and life expectancy at birth.
