Two Volume set bound in blue cloth with silver decorations, quarto, published November, 1909. There are three folding maps and a panorama in the back pocket of volume II, plus frontises and 12 color plates all with tissue guards. Shackleton's narrative of the Nimrod Expedition and the first attainment of the magnetic South Pole. Both volumes with touches of wear at the extremities, Volume I with a scuff mark on back cover, Volume II a 1/4" closed tear at the head of spine.
