Kathleen Dolan invests in the Rawlings, Oklahoma Gazette and has high hopes as she nears her new home. But excitement turns to anger and fear when hijackers intercept her outside town. Fortunately for Kathleen, local rancher Johnny Henry intervenes, saving her and her belongings. Kathleen is soon to learn that the thwarted hijacking is just the first of many threats from a powerful Rawlings resident who wants to keep her from uncovering his secrets. Johnny finds himself first championing then falling in love with the beautiful redhead, while Kathleen is irresistibly drawn to the quiet cowboy. Despite the differences in their backgrounds, Johnny's determined to marry Kathleen, but first he's going to have to find a way to keep the daring newspaperwoman alive--a task that proves daunting, to say the least.
