About the Author

Born in 1976 in Pusan South Korea, Jess Gjerstad was rescued and adopted into the United States. Jess was raised in a Christian family and grew up in the Lutheran Church. In 1990, Jess had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. This was the first of many supernatural encounters. He also began to sense a call from God to full-time occupational ministry. In 2003, God called Jess to leave Minnesota and everything familiar to live in Kansas City. Jess joined the staff at the International House of Prayer (IHOP-KC) in 2003 where he continues to the present. In 2004, Jess earned his Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since then, God has sent Jess to several nations on strategic prayer assignments. Jess also travels around the United States, teaching on prayer, evangelism, and spiritual warfare. Jess's hobbies include reading, meteorology, and prayer
