4to, full leather, gilt lettering and gilt edges, illustrated with 28 photo -typo plates by Britton & Rey (including frontispiece of the Sierras"), numerous wood engravings, including plates after photographs and paintings, and two maps (one folding), [4]. xii, 13-496 pp .Binding with wear to joints and edges, mild scuffing, hinges repaired, stain to top edge, occasionally creeping into top margin, folding map with a long repaired tear, scattered soiling and occasional pale foxmarks, stains to pages 132-133, and one of the wood engraved plates, ownership signatures; otherwise very good. Deluxe issue in full leather. Portrait of Hutchings engraved in wood, and over 150 illustrations in total. Hutchings was a pioneer of the tourist industry in Yosemite, and one of the first to visit there in the winter.
