First edition, second issue (with a passenger in the cart and a lean-to added to the building in the frontispiece). "The High Sierra, with its magnificent scenery, ancient and modern glaciers, and other objects of interest; with tables of distances and altitudes, maps, etc. Profusely Illustrated". Illustrated with fold-out map, plates from photographs, full-page and in text. Fair to poor, cloth at front spine groove is torn part way down from top and worn at edges, hinges badly cracked, shaken, text block is intact. Mustard cloth with gilt , beveled edges, gilt page edges.
