You will meet these patients and the men and women who cared for them or innovated new therapies that helped them live better lives.

About the Author: Robert G. Hauser MD graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1968. After training in internal medicine and cardiology, he joined the full-time faculty of Rush University Medical Center where he was Professor of Medicine. In 1987, he moved to Minnesota where he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc., a division of Eli Lilly and Company, until 1992. In 1987 he also joined the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where he practiced clinical cardiology until October 2015.
Dr. Hauser is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Founder, past President, and Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is the former Chairman of the Board of SonoSite, Inc., a manufacturer of medical ultrasound instruments.He has published multiple scientific papers in peer review journals. He has lectured on five continents and enjoys speaking to lay audiences on heart disease.
