The Heart of Success: Conversations With Notable Achievers

This is a unique collection of conversations with prominent individuals in business, government, science, education, sports and the arts which discuss the essence of success. Gleaned from hours of taped interviews, the author presents 40 profiles of a diverse group of men and women, young and old, which provide anecdotes from their lives and experiences. Subjects include: Sandra Day O'Connor, first female justice of the US Supreme Court, Bob Dole, former US Senator and 1996 presidential candidate; Sparky Anderson, Hall of Fame baseball manager; Mike Eruzione, captain of the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" US Olympic hockey team; Ken Burns, noted documentary filmmaker; Hilary Hahn, Grammy-nominated concert violinist; and many others.

Dr. Dan G. Tripps holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon with a concentration in the social and psychological aspects of performance. He is the former President of the 1984 Olympic Scientific Congress held in conjunction with the Los Angeles Olympic Games. He is the founder of the international organization Sport for Understanding and project manager for The Raven, a world record attempt in human-powered flight. Dr. Tripps resides in the Seattle area and is a faculty member at Seattle Pacific University.
