25x18 cm. Second 4to Counting House edition. Original black cloth with title gilt-stamped on cover with patent date of July 12, 1867. Very good condition with chipping at top and bottom of spine. 36 pp., 16 plates (including frontis and business card). This issue contains the second state of the Laban Heath bank note style business card without the designation Plate 15. Newman 2-BH-2 also relates that the text refers to Heath's magnifying glass but that the plates illustrating it were included were not available at the time of publication. Seller Inventory # b01608
