Synopsis:

"How Heavy Is The Mountain," an Alaskan "tour manual/novel," is based upon the author's adventures as a professional tour guide in Alaska and the Yukon Territory. It combines a literary novel format with factual, true-to-life "tours" of the many diverse regions of the land. "Mountain" is a palette of tones, styles and themes: within its pages a reader encounters narrative travel writing, miniature wildlife treatises, poetry, pointless drinking songs and highly personalized storytelling. Overall, the story is told with warmth, humor and an affection for its subjects: in particular, the great land that is Alaska.

About the Author: Tim Rundquist spent eight seasons as a professional tour guide in Alaska, covering territory from Ketchikan to Prudhoe Bay. He currently resides in rural Minnesota with his wife, Heather.
