The Hedgehog's Full Moon Party (Paperback or Softback)

Lavender the hedgehog loves her nightly walks across the gardens and fields beyond.

As the moon gets brighter each night, Lavender makes a magical discovery that will stay with her forever.

The vibrant, colourful drawings and engaging narrative will allow children to explore the wonders of night-time and the mystery of hedgehogs in this charming picture book.

The author, Richard Mayers, has created an original hedgehog story for children aged 3-6+ years - the tale focuses on a very hungry hedgehog and her nighttime adventures. He has collaborated with illustrator Abigail de Montfort, her debut children's book, to create a charming story packed full of 16 vibrant and layered images, creatively mixing water-colours and digital photography.

The picture book not only tells children about the wonders of nocturnal wildlife (such as hedgehogs, mice, and toads to name but a few) but can also be used in an educational context to teach children about the different stages of the moon, and life cycles. The Hedgehog's Full Moon Party also features advice on how to attract hedgehogs to your garden and informs readers about the wonderful work that the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and People's Trust for Endangered Species have done to help conserve hedgehog numbers, in particular, the narrative highlights the recent Hedgehog Street campaign.

The Hedgehog's Full Moon Party is Burton Mayers Books' third children's book but their first venture into picture books. A ebook version is available for Amazon kindle.

Richard works as a Media Studies teacher in secondary schools. He has also taught English and Computing across schools in London and Hertfordshire.
