Synopsis
Hello, My Name Is Oliver, is a chapter book based on Oliver s true life events after he is disgracefully disposed of at the nearest SPCA shelter and left without so much as a cuddle, which left poor Oliver (then registered as Gulliver) feeling unloved, generic and dispensable. As Oliver s new life after his successful adoption unfolds and he matures beyond his puppy years, Ollie discovers that his idiosyncrasies are not so dissimilar to that of his human family and others he meets. However, his greatest challenge becomes passing on this information to his new family whilst learning to cope with anxiety, depression and some unique perceptions. Although Hello, My Name is Oliver is a fun read, the story really teaches the reader about love, acceptance, tolerance and adaptability; all of which could be beneficial to us all! In the Mood Meter section, parents and educators will find keywords worthy of discussion with children as young as Kindergarten age, and help children understand their feelings as well as learn to respect others who may need a few extra cuddles or kind words. We are all Imperfectly Perfect and need to learn to love ourselves at an early age so as to create a better planet for all of us; furry or not!

She loves telling stories to her daughter and discussing the trigger words used in the story to help her gain a greater understanding of her surroundings. One day, in order to explain depression and anxiety and how both need to be met with kindness and understanding, Paymaneh started telling her daughter Oliver s story. they didn t go too far as they just kept laughing and reminiscing about all that this lovingly crazy dog has done since his arrival. As usual, the laughing and reading and talking in bed brought Paymaneh and her daughter closer together and she wished that every child would go to sleep like that. This is when Paymaneh decided to write Oliver s story to perhaps give other parents and their children an opportunity to explore some everyday topics like anxiety and share a closer bond and a few laughs. Loving from within changes all of us for the better, loving our children makes them better people and loving our animals help us get there!
