Dr. Benedek has held some of the most prestigious leadership positions in her profession, including a term as only the second woman president of the American Psychiatric Association in its 153-year history. She lives in Ann Arbor, MI. Catherine F. Brown, M.Ed., has been with Psychiatric News, the newspaper of the American Psychiatric Association, since 1982.
