Yerachmiel Altman is a computer software engineer with training in chemical engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
He developed type 1 diabetes at the age of two and has been living at the leading edge of diabetes medical care. He began using an insulin pump over 38 years and has contributed to the design, testing and usage of pumps, glucose sensors, catheters and other related devices and delivery systems.
He has earned the AADE Diabetes level 1 Paraprofessional.
He has a facebook diabetes support group Insulinopoly with over 1800 members as well as leading support group for Jewish children with type 1 diabetes and is a member of several support groups for people with diabetes.
He is married and resides in Massachusetts.
