Helsinki: Buildings and projects since 1917: Architectural Guide: Buildings and projects from 1917 to the Present Day

Helsinki is considered one of the world's leading centers for good design. In addition to Finnish design, which is highly regarded worldwide, this is mainly due to its modern architecture, which impresses with its clear, functional design language and minimalist elegance.

For this book's third edition, the team of authors led by German architecture critic Ulf Meyer has updated and expanded the content once again. As well as works by modern classics such as Eliel Saarinen and Alvar Aalto, it presents buildings by important contemporary architects such as Juhani Pallasmaa and Pekka Helin, as well as the latest projects by innovative firms including Anttinen Oiva, JKMM and Verstas Architects. With extensive map material, QR codes for precise location of the buildings, and up-to-date aerial photographs, this book is the ideal companion for a visit to this northern architectural hotspot.
