When first formed, Henry County embraced the whole of what is now Patrick County and the greater portion of present Franklin County, VA. These deeds include many bills of sale; trust deeds; powers of attorney; dower right releases; names of counties and states where the grantor has taken up residence or plans to reside; leases; damage suits; inquisitions into death; deeds of gifts; bonds and contracts.
