Henry Reed: Collected Poems

Henry Reed was one of the most celebrated British poets of World War II. This collection traces Reed's life and attempts to establish Reed alongside the other great war poets of the 20th century through a critical assessment of his poems, including his many unpublished poems, Lessons of the War, translations, songs, and early fragments.

Henry Reed is best known for his widely anthologized World War II poem, "Naming of Parts." He also wrote numerous radio plays for the BBC and was a translator of Italian literature into English. He is the author of The Map of Verona. Jon Stallworthy is a fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Society of Literature, and is a professor of English literature at Oxford University. He is the author of numerous books, including a biography of Louis MacNeice, and the editor of Wilfred Owen's Complete Poems and Fragments and several poetry anthologies.
