Henry's Thoughts

“I think the books are going to be hard for me and the other kids will be better readers than me,” tells Henry 2nd grader who didn’t believe in himself. With the help of his teacher, Ms. Rivelli, and his classmates, Henry learns the difference between positive and negative self-talk. He embraces the skill of using positive self-talk as a tool to help him successfully use his reading strategies and believe in himself!

Lisa Navarra is a special education teacher, behavior specialist, author and speaker. She earned a M.A. in Special Education and since 1996 has experience educating grades Pre-K through 12th. Lisa is the Founder/President of Child Behavior Consulting, LLC which offers professional development, workshops and individual consultations. CBC educates how to manage and overcome challenges related to behavior, academic learning and social and emotional development. She specializes in ADHD and educates parents, children and organizations working with all children. The focus of CBC is to teach self-regulation and develop Executive Functioning skills that impact a child's behavioral, academic and/or social and emotional development in school and at home. Lisa has created and developed Tools Inspiring Action!(TM) which teach children and adults the skills in "how to learn" so academic and behavioral challenges can be overcome through visual/verbal prompts and children's music.
