About the Author
Native Hoosier Kathleen Gerwig Speigner has participated in the performing arts since age six. An avid "wrighter," she wrote her first book at age ten and has since authored several plays. Her first, Valentines in October, earned 1997's "Outstanding Creative Project" at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis. To date, various Indianapolis area high schools and youth groups have performed Valentines. Holding a Master of Arts in Communication & Theatre from Indiana State, Kathleen's stories help youth contemplate moral and controversial issues. "It's tough growing up! Hero Kit Hunter provides a positive example to help youth strengthen their resolve to act with integrity and build confidence in their talents and in their relationships." Kathleen currently resides in Seattle with her husband and children.
