Synopsis
From meeting a 17 foot great white shark face to face, to diving from an airplane toward the earth's surface at 120 MPH, to exploring a sunker battle cruiser from WWII in the dark depths of the South Pacific Ocean, author and adventure Stephen Arrington retells many exciting tales from his life as a navy frogman and chief diver for the Cousteau Society. Each story is laced with Arrington's Christian belief and outlook that life is an adventure waiting to be had. Arrington warns today's youth against such luring deterrents as alcohol, drugs, and the like, which can only keep you from experiencing each moment so rich with possibilities for adventure. He reflects on himself as a youth and the dreams he dreamed, which did come true once he put his life in God's hands, and allowed His will to be his guide.
About the Author
Stephen Arrington was a Navy bomb disposal frogman, working with nuclear and convention weapons. His was a life of adventure, diving down to sunken wrecks, jumping out of airplanes, working with the Secret Service, the CIA and ATF. A marijuana mistake ended that career, then he accidently slipped into the drug underworld where he became a codefendant in the infamous John Z. DeLorean Drug Trial. In prison he realized all the mistakes were his own. He gave what he thought was a worthless life to Jesus Christ in a prison cell. Amazing, he becomes chief engineer of an inmate fire crew, leads seventeen lifesaving emergency responses and is released early from prison. Two years later he becomes chief diver and expedition leader for the Cousteau Society. For over five years he lives an odyssey of adventure, diving with great white sharks, humpback whales, dolphins and orcas that we catching and eating sharks. Steve left the job of his dreams to become a lay youth minister. He has since done over 1700 public school assemblies. He speaks at churches and for youth organizations. His goal in life is to motivate youth towards rights choices that lead to a meaningful and purpose driven life.
