Wei Xiong is a Professor at the National University of Defense Technology, China. His research areas include spatial databases, high-performance geographic information system, and apply artificial intelligence to solve geospatial problems. He has received research funding from the National Natural Science Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Technology. He was participated in the development of the spatial database BeyonDB and high-performance geographic information system HiGIS. He has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020.
