What appears to be a 9th print (if I counted the reprint dates correctly) of a Penguin Books edition from the early 1970s of a classic Philip Marlowe novel from the early 1940s. "Mrs Elizabeth Bright Murdock wanted to hire a nice clean private detective who wouldn't drop cigar ashes on the floor and never carried more than one gun." Light edge wear. Diagonal crease to the upper left of the back cover. The very lightly browned pages are clean and crisp. A very good copy.
